Swanky Spotlight: Modern Romance

I fell in love with Etsy Store, Modern Romance, when I included one of Christine's birdcage veils in my Parisian Wedding Inspiration Board last week. I just couldn't get enough of her gorgeous accessories, and she just happens to be local(Portland, OR), so a perfect spotlight for today! Christine designs wedding accessories for brides who want a modern look with a touch of girly. The organza flowers and wraps/capelets are beautiful statement pieces that take your ensemble from ordinary to extraordinary. I think the Big Pearls Choker would make a perfect gift for your bridesmaids also. I know I would wear it everyday!! Christine also takes custom orders, so if there is a particular color or variation you are looking for just give her a shout through her etsy store. Happy Shopping!!

Tequila Sunrise Ice Pops

I'm sick with a nasty cold right now, so I thought a cocktail post might cheer me up. For some reason I always crave popsicles when I'm sick. So here's a great combination of both:

Tequila Sunrise Ice Pops

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup cranberry juice cocktail
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 1-1/2 cups orange juice
  • 1/4 cup gold tequila

Directions

1. In a measuring cup combine cranberry juice cocktail, lime juice, and honey. Using 8 plastic frozen pop molds or 3-ounce paper cups, pour 4 teaspoons of the juice mixture into the bottom of each. Freeze for 1 hour or until firm but not hard. In another liquid measuring cup combine orange juice and tequila.

2. Carefully pour orange juice mixture over cranberry mixture. Cover paper cups with foil and insert wooden craft sticks into cups or insert pop mold sticks into pop molds; freeze overnight. Remove pops from molds or tear off paper and remove foil before serving. Makes 8 frozen pops.

Tip: You can make "virgin" ice pops by eliminating the tequila and adding an extra tablespoon each of the cranberry juice cocktail and lime juice.

I Dig Laura Hooper Calligraphy

As you may have noticed, I've been struggling to find a logo I love. Well, the search is over. Laura Hooper has saved me from another logo nightmare! My style is clean, modern, with a touch of whimsy and I think this new logo incorporates all of those things. What do you think?

Laura is well known for her beautiful calligraphy and amazing custom wedding maps, but have you checked out her Placecards and Escort Cards? How fabulous would the Hand painted Sand Dollars and Spanish Tiles be for a destination wedding? Check out all the styles of tiles HERE. I don't think I can pick a favorite, but those stinkin' cute Compasses are right near the top. Love those for a Yacht Club Soirée! The Star place cards would be perfect hanging on a Manzanita Centerpiece or tied to a cute favor bottle or box. I've linked to her Etsy Store, but you can find many more card options on her main site.

Thank you Laura!

Swanky Spotlight: Pix Patisserie

I had my first AND second Pix Patisserie experience in Portland last weekend. It was so good, I had to go back the next day. Their macaron's are to die for!!! I think my very favorite was the Fleur de Sel {French Sea Salt Studded Macaron Filled with Caramel Butter Cream}, but the Cassis Violet{Filled with Black Current and Violet Butter Cream} was a close second. They have two fabulous locations, SE Division St and North Williams{Drink top shelf liquors or Stumptown Coffee at this location}. The North Williams location is next door to Lark Press Letterpress Printing and kiddie corner to the fabulous ink & peat store owned by Pam Zsori of the HouseMartin Blog}.

Out of Africa

This magical table was designed by Colin Cowie in South Africa for Brides Magazine. I love the color scheme of white, dark brown, red and orange. Its a warm table with a crisp and clean look. Is that possible? I love the way he has used texture and fresh fruit to bring out the beauty of the region. Who says you have to have safari animals on the table?

StudioWed Atlanta located in trendy Midtown West (1000 Marietta St,Suite 124, Atlanta, GA),is an exclusive collection of wedding vendors representing the finest wedding professionals that service the Atlanta area. This is a hip and revolutionary concept in local and destination
weddings in Atlanta: a stylish and sophisticated planning studio wherethe area's best vendors come to you. Meet with a photographer over coffee in the morning and enjoy a glass of wine as you chat with a florist in the afternoon. Best of all, there's no cost to you to use StudioWed's services, so you can feel free to spend an entire day --or as many as you need -- planning your big day.

“It is my goal with the studio to streamline the wedding planning process and be a resource for engaged couples. I find that brides are quickly overwhelmed with the number of vendors in the marketplace and the time it takes to drive all over the city to meet with these
vendors. StudioWed offers couples a haven to find quality vendors and resources for planning their wedding.” ~Michelle Gainey

Congratulations Michelle and the rest of the team at StudioWed Atlanta! Go check them out!
