Sip and See Library Baby Shower

For a second or third baby, a mom may already have a lot of the baby goods normally given at baby showers.  I still feel like a celebration is in order and a Sip and See Baby Shower is a great way to do this.    It is traditionally a casual event where friends and family can drop by to "ooh and aah" and enjoy refreshments.  For this pink and white library themed shower, guests will be helping build the baby's library.  Included in the library card invitation was a bookplate label that the guest can sign and place inside their gift.  What a wonderful memory for mom and baby, and  no one even has to take notes on gifts!

Signature Cocktail: Pear Lemon Fizzies

 A cool and refreshing cocktail for your event, this drink looks extra festive with grosgrain ribbon flags!

Pear-Lemon Fizzies

Ingredients

Makes 1

    * Ice cubes

    * 1/2 ounce (1 tablespoon) pear vodka

    * 3/4 ounce Lemon Verbena Simple Syrup

    * 1/2 ounce (1 tablespoon) fresh lemon juice

    * Champagne, for topping off (about 1/2 cup)

    * 1 fresh lemon verbena leaf, for garnish

Directions

   1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add vodka, syrup, and lemon juice. Shake, and then strain into a glass. Top off with Champagne. Garnish with lemon verbena.

My New Caffeine Addiction: NesCafe Dolce Gusto

With 3 year old twins who have recently given up their nap, I do most of my work late at night into the wee hours of the morning. To do this, I need my caffeine fix at night. I'm also the only person in the family who drinks coffee after dinner so I was always waking up to half a pot of cold coffee left over in the morning. Then along came the perfect solution, the Dolce Gusto. In less than one minute I can bust out a cup of joe, a latte, or a multitude of great drinks and I don't have to brew a whole pot of coffee. I'm also loving it for parties. Close to the end of the evening, I just go around the room asking each guest what their drink of choice is and voila I've turned into a barista. My favorite single cup capsule flavors so far are: Latte Machiatto, Cappuccino, and the Espresso. Too bad I can't fit it in my suitcase, I'm going to miss when I'm on vacation. :( Have a fabulous weekend!

Love a Red and White color palette for a modern event. The red keeps the decor from being to cold but still maintains a striking effect. I'm dying to stay at the Miami Mondrian, how amazing is the red furniture and the fabulous "cabanas".
