The Art of Weddings

Did you get engaged over the holidays? Are you planning a wedding in
the Pacific Northwest(Oregon/Washington)? Time to turn all your wedding dreams into reality by meeting and mingling with Portland wedding vendors on January 7th, 2010 at Portland Center Stage. Of course, The Art of Weddings, is no ordinary show, it is a place to celebrate your engagement and be inspired by Portland's most fabulous vendors in a relaxed atmosphere. Some of my favorite vendors will be there Jasmine Photography, Studio Del Fiore, akcakedesign, and Le Cookie Monkey. Come enjoy the fashion show, yummy treats, and stunning flowers and don't forget to stop by Swanky Tables and say hi! For more information and tickets go to The Art of Weddings website and the official Simply Chic Weddings Blogfor current updates.

Yummy Packaging

I think I may love packaging a gift more than the gift itself, so I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite sites for fabulous wrapping essentials.

Top to Bottom
Simplesong designs - Just received this teacher's gift packaging in the mail, along with some treat boxes. You'll want to order some items just because Suann packages everything so beautifully. Her blind impression notecards make great gifts also! Check out her blog too!

Nice Package - This is the place to go to stock up on cute packaging items. The Vintage Whimsy Kit(pictured above) and Holiday Treat Bags are my favorite! Don't forget to check out her famous blog too! Creature Comforts.

Garnish- Lovely selection of packaging items that you can dress up yourself or be inspired by their gallery of ideas! Love the gingerbread house packaging pictured above. So sweet! Another great blog to follow, too!

Inkspot Workshop
- For gift enclosures and labels to coordinate with the rest of the event, this is the place to go! Great selection of custom stationery, party invitations, and address labels. She also packages everything beautifully!! Don't miss her iCandy post weekly on her blog. Its the best! Oh, and happy anniversary, Stacy! So jealous you are in St. John!

Luxe Paperie- I use alot of decorative paper for sweet tables, favors, and decor. This is my go to place for the most stunning selection. They just happen to be the sweetest people and have the BEST customer service!!! They also have an amazing selection of invitations, stationery, cards, and gifts. (will custom print items as well!)

Happy Wrapping!!

Holiday Card Display

Every year I think I'm going to come up with a new creative way to display my cards, but I forget to actually do it until I get the first one in the mail. I really would love both of the above display's from House & Home magazine. The top one is a decorative frame spray painted white, fitted with a cork board covered with decorative paper. For the second display, just throw your cards under glass. Pretty darn easy, but big impact in the decor dept. Love that!

Holiday Tables

Finally getting over my sickness and getting excited for the holidays! Of course, I can not think of a better time to get creative with your tablescape. I found some fun holiday tables perusing magazines and blogs. I especially dig the mylar paper chain and hot pink table. Festive and modern, just my style. This year I'm going with a blue and silver theme. What holiday color scheme are you decorating in this year?
