Custom Photo Backdrops by Thomas Marlow

You have probably figured out that I'm a huge fan of photo booths and backdrops at events. Well, these custom designed photo booths by Thomas Marlow definitely take the cake!
Each custom set design is inspired by the client’s personal style. No set designs are ever repeated and the modular design of the gear allows it to be broken down, ready to travel anywhere in the world. Event guests are given a remote to trigger the camera shutter, giving them complete creative control. I think the snow filled booth is my favorite! How fun! Check out all the examples on his site and for more information contact Thomas here.

Finger Food Plates: Yay or Nay?

This looks a little crazy to me. Is this practical or just plain ridiculous? I can't decide. What do you think? Find them at CB2 in sets of ten HERE.

Key Lime Colada

One of my favorite cocktails I had while in Hawaii this past August(and probably accounts for the 5lbs I gained on the trip), was the Key Lime Colada. I just recently found the Keke Beach Cream Liqueur at my local liquor store and I'm so excited to see if I can recreate it.

Key Lime Colada

1 oz. vanilla rum
1 to ¾ oz. Keke Beach Key Lime Cream liqueur
1 splash piña colada mix and pineapple juice
1 cup of ice

Real Tables: Color Love

Teras from T.evenire Event Planning and Design sent me these pictures from the table she designed in September. This bright and cheerful table makes me want to go jump on the plane and go somewhere warm. Especially this time of year, when it is icky and gray in Portland. Love those the floral design and I really want those napkins too!

A Good Night To Get Cozy With A Brandied Hot Chocolate

It's been nasty rainy here all day in Camas, WA. Definitely a good night to curl up in front of a fire with a Brandied Hot Chocolate.

Brandied Hot Chocolate

Yield: Makes 4 mugs

  • 1 1/2 cups grated bittersweet chocolate
  • 1/2 cup dry milk powder
  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 4 tablespoons Armagnac(Brandy)
  • Whipped cream or marshmallows, for garnish

1. In a medium bowl, mix grated chocolate and dry milk powder.

2. In a medium saucepan, heat whole milk over medium heat. Once heated, stir in the chocolate mixture and whisk until the chocolate has melted and the mixture is smooth and hot.

3. Pour 1 Tbsp. Armagnac(Brandy) into each mug (four mugs total), then fill each mug with the smooth, hot chocolate mixture. Serve hot, garnished with whipped cream or marshmallows.

Real Soirées: Birdie Baby Shower

I received this lovely baby shower from Keren of the Free Pretty Things For You Blog the other day. With a fresh color scheme of pink and green and the bird motif it really makes me excited for spring! What a perfect theme to welcome a new baby into the world. One of my favorite ideas is the colored water, how easy and wonderful is that? Click here for more diy details on her site. Enjoy!

Bedazzle My Bonbons

The other favor I used for the "male guests" at The Art of Weddings was a Bedazzle my Bonbons.
They are even more gorgeous in person and YUMMY! I loved the silver, but the bright pink and green are so stunning in person. They also happened to be filled with mint and raspberry, which just sent me over the edge. They would look amazing on a chocolate or dessert table also!

The Art of Weddings 2010

Thought I would share some eye candy from The Art of Weddings show last Thursday night. The venue was amazing this year. Alexis of Jasmine Photography does such a fabulous job putting the show together. There were so many great Portland, OR wedding vendors that participated. Although, I did not sleep a wink the night before it was so worth it. I was very happy with the way Studio del Fiore and my table turned out. Check it out below. Would love to know what you think. The Art of Weddings Sneak Peak with Studio del Fiore

Are you dying? I almost fell over when I saw Portland floral designer ,Lisa Martin of Studio del Fiore's vintage brooch bridal bouquet. There are so many things I love about this bouquet: its gorgeous and glamorous (exactly how you should feel on your wedding day), it works as well with modern weddings as vintage and eclectic styles, and of course you can keep it forever(can anyone say art piece?). Every year, Lisa makes a one of a kind bouquet that can be purchased at The Art of Weddings show, she has gone all out this year (it took her months to complete). Don't be late, get to the show early Thursday night (6pm - 9pm) so you can be the lucky one to walk down the aisle with this amazing bouquet. Can you imagine the oohs and aahs?

I was lucky enough to be able to collaborate with Lisa of Studio del Fiore on a wedding reception table design for the show. She is such a dream to work with and has amazing ideas! So come check out this amazing bouquet and our modern glamour reception table! I'll be serving a bubbly drink with these cute straws from the new Swanky Tables Cart. (perfect for serving sweet treats or signature drinks at your next event)
Hope to see you there!!!

WedLuxe Coco Chanel Inspired Table

There are some seriously talented people living north of me in Canada. I'm a big fan of WedLuxe Magazine and always look forward to seeing their features. This table does not disappoint. Inspired by Coco Chanel, this table was produced by SpectacularSpectacular and photographed by Ikonica. Besides all the gorgeous details, one of my favorite parts of this table was the behind the scenes pics on the She Said Spectacular Blog. Definitely check it out after admiring these photos from WedLuxe.
